The Half Guard Squeeze or Pressure Pass is a great option for shutting down the half guard, and utilizing a tight passing game. Sometimes it can be hard to cut your knee through. Perhaps the guy doesn’t mind his chin being driven into the ground like a railroad spike, or he is silly leg strength. Either way, we have a workaround.
With the Chest Squeeze, instead of cutting our knee across the thigh, we are going to slide through up the torso. It can be more miserable than the regular squeeze, as you replace your shoulder pressure with your chest, and it gives you some solid submission options, such as the arm triangle.
P.S. – It’s been over a year since I have posted anything, and I apologize for the long absence. As a result, it looks like I was a bit rusty, as the framing for this video was a bit off. Hopefully not enough to detract from understanding the technique. The next videos in this series are better framed. I’m looking forward to posting more videos on a regular basis now, so stay tuned. 🙂

To become the best, we must continuously test ourselves. We measure our performance, evaluate our faults, accept criticism and then work on improving ourselves before starting all over again.
I live by this principle, and I need your help! I wish to be the best instructor I can be, but I need feedback from you to know if I am doing a good job.
