Same Side Kimura and TV Leg Hook to Butt Roll with Jake Shields

I had a nice training session with a few studs at Xtreme Couture, Alvin Yeh, Matt Alfonte, and Jake Shields. Afterwards, we sat down and discussed some of the positions we got into, and some stuff Jake was working on technique wise.

The first thing we covered was the Same Side Kimura, which in my humble opinion, is the most powerful Kimura in the game. He was reviewing the technique, and asking about experimenting with setting it up from the back mount, which led to using the TV position, and the leg hook butt roll setup.

Note: The audio isn’t great here, and I apologize for that. It’s a big, busy gym and the acoustics aren’t great, plus the background music it loud. I’m going to get a different mic setup to see if that will help.

To become the best, we must continuously test ourselves. We measure our performance, evaluate our faults, accept criticism and then work on improving ourselves before starting all over again.

I live by this principle, and I need your help! I wish to be the best instructor I can be, but I need feedback from you to know if I am doing a good job. What did you think?

  • Too fast for me to understand. Plus I could not hear the words.

    • Just got a new mic setup that should make the audio much clearer. Next videos will hopefully have clearee audio
