Thanksgiving is just a day away, so I want to take some time to reflect back on this year. It has been a great year for me:
- I have recovered from my knee surgery
- Got myself into the best shape I have been in many years.
- I have made many new friends on my retreats, which is something I now plan to do more regularly.
- Traveled to Costa Rica and dove in the Cocos Islands
- Traveled to Spain with my girlfriend and parents
- Traveled to Miami to visit my family
- Traveled to California to watch ADCC 2019 live
- Moved to a new home
These are just some of the highlights that I can quickly recall, but of all the things I have done this year, I think the most significant was restoring my health. Being stubborn and not addressing my health and fitness was foolish, and I wasted some good years doing so, but I’m glad I was able to take care of it and be able to enjoy the benefits of it now.
It is easy to take things for granted, like health, relationships, or wealth when you have them in abundance. But when they start to slip away, that is when you truly realize the value they have and what you would be willing to do to restore them.
With that being said, I hope this helps you think back and reflect on your year, and hopefully you have much to be thankful for, or at least much to learn from. 🙂
