Rob and I speak with former 2-time IBJJF Absolute World Champion Rodrigo “Comprido” Medeiros. We start off getting some history about Comprido and the formation of the Alliance team, followed by some funny childhood stories about him and Leo Veira, including the time they got in trouble with the police for a stolen fish.
As the first IBJJF Absolute champion to win by submission, especially with a foot lock, we talk about how the culture of cross training has changed dramatically over the years; from training in different disciplines to training in other academies.
We also get into the history of fixed matches in BJJ, how it was like coaching and training with Brock Lesnar, and what things Comprido would change in BJJ today.
