Bottom Half Guard Kimura Series – Hot Dog Roll

It’s possible that while you are attacking your opponent with all of these sweeps, he might try to pass your half guard. Fine, let him try and you can jump straight to his back with the hot dog roll.

This move is very counterintuitive at first, as you are going to move in the opposite direction of your opponent. Your instinct might feel like you are going to give the pass or worse, but as long as you hang onto your Kimura tight, the magic will kick in as you create a pocket for them to fall into. Normally you land in a back take situation, but sometimes it can turn into a rear triangle or arm bar too.

To become the best, we must continuously test ourselves. We measure our performance, evaluate our faults, accept criticism and then work on improving ourselves before starting all over again.

I live by this principle, and I need your help! I wish to be the best instructor I can be, but I need feedback from you to know if I am doing a good job.
