The Jab is the first strike that an aspiring martial artist should learn. For beginners, I want them to understand the analogy of using a jab like you would a whip. You must be relaxed and loose, and whip out that jab quickly and return just as quick to your guard.
Often, newcomers to the fight world get very tense and stiff, and try to force power like they would by pushing a heavy object. This is a very different application of force. Just look at the best strikers in MMA, such as Anderson Silva and Israel Adesanya. They are not bulking brutes, rather the opposite. Long, flexible, and loose. Their power comes from striking like a whip.

To become the best, we must continuously test ourselves. We measure our performance, evaluate our faults, accept criticism and then work on improving ourselves before starting all over again.
I live by this principle, and I need your help! I wish to be the best instructor I can be, but I need feedback from you to know if I am doing a good job.
