Video Review – High Mount Escapes

Hello everybody!

I know I have been posting much later than usual, but my trip to Las Vegas made it difficult to post earlier – but not impossible 🙂

So for the first video review, I had a very good question about escaping from the high mount. This is a simple lesson that everyone can learn from that teaches an important principle on how to escape from bottom positions like side mount or the mount.

To become the best, we must continuously test ourselves. We measure our performance, evaluate our faults, accept criticism and then work on improving ourselves before starting all over again.

I live by this principle, and I need your help! I wish to be the best instructor I can be, but I need feedback from you to know if I am doing a good job. • Excellent instruction, simple and clear. 🙂

  • Hey David-

Whasup..Like the reverse army crawl technique and that principle to getting to a more stable position before attacking or defending…makes good sense…the first scissors escape seems to leave open opposite foot toe holds though with advanced guys..One thing to consider is there.s a lot out there online now and a lot of good stuff that works, however with higher level guys (purple and above) much of it doesnt usually work…To show techniques that apply at all levels would engage the full gamut of jitsu levels in my opinion. But great stuff and thank you…By the way im following Palhares upcoming UFC fight with mild interest, he.s a real prick. Part of his game is to play dumb and be nasty and aggressive yet friendly. He.s not retarded just twisted, lol…Anyone who holds dangerous subs past tapp should be disqualified permanently…Take care!
